Over spring break, I had the chance to go out to the East Coast with the Men’s Choir on our tri-annual choir tour! It was an absolute blast! We got to sing at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (the National Catholic Church in Washington, DC), lots of churches in the area, plenty of schools, and also at our home church, College Mennonite. Throughout the trip, we visited Washington, DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Ohio. We sang two or three concerts every day, which was a bit taxing, but the energy of the 45 guys on tour was enough to help us make it through the entire week. This is one of the wonderful opportunities of the music program at Goshen. There is a tour every year during spring break, and it rotates between Men’s Choir, Women’s World Music Choir, and Chamber Choir. Our choir is one of the biggest co-curricular activities that our students are involved in, which means a lot of students get to go on tour sometime during their career.
