About the Arts in London course at Goshen College
Arts in London is designed as an interdisciplinary course, giving students general exposure in the areas of theater, visual arts, music and architecture. All participants will attend events or performances selected from these venues:
Visual arts: the National Gallery, Tate Gallery, British Museum, and cathedrals (Westminster Abbey, Wren’s St. Paul’s, etc.).
Music: the Barbican Center, St. Martin-in-the-fields, Royal Festival Hall, Covent Garden Opera, Sadler’s Well, and other recital venues.
Theater: performances at the Barbican Center, National Theatre, Globe Theatre, and West End theaters.
Additional activities will be expected in a Fine Arts area of the student’s choice. Field trips to Coventry Cathedral, Stratford-upon-Avon, Avebury and Salisbury are planned.
Professors will give introductory lectures on concerts, plays and art works. The course will require maintaining a daily journal and a research project in the area of a student’s arts interest that will focus on the London location. Participants in the course include 45 students, 3 professors and 1 course assistant. All students attend 3 music performances, 3 theater performances and 3 art gallery/museums with a 10th activity in the student’s area of interest.

Hope you guys are having a fantastic time in one of the most brilliant cities on earth! My Theatre trip to London was a fantastic experience. I’ve lived in the UK for 10 years now, just 40 minutes outside the city and take every chance I get to explore it’s amazing streets.
